Kōhai Vase

The Kōhai Vase represents our exploration of traditional Japanese vessel forms through computational design. Each curve is precisely calculated, yet the result feels organic—a testament to the harmony between algorithm and material.

Standing at 28cm tall, this piece features 347 individual layers of extruded stoneware clay. The subtle horizontal ridges catch light differently throughout the day, creating an ever-changing surface texture.

Finished with a matte ash glaze that pools in the algorithmic valleys, revealing the geometry of its making.
